Sometimes one can tell big things about a place from the little things , had lunch in the bar area with a friend .It is a friendly , if you try to be friendly . But that is not the little things , growing up in the Boston Italian suburb of Evertt in the 1960's one learned what a real Italian sub was supposed to be .Luciano's does it , from the bread to the meatball sauce they have it. Have not found this close in 60 years living Detroit . I Will have to make the. Drive to bring my wife for dinner .

We had a great experience at Luciano's. I haven't been here since the 90s! It was just as charming as I remember it! Very old school Italian feel! The service was great and very quick. The food though? It was outstanding. They really feed you! Bread, soup or salad, pasta, and the main course. Soo much food. The bread was an absolute delight. The chicken Florentine was better than mine! The chicken Alfredo looked delicious! We will absolutely be back!!!!

A group of 7 of us went to Luciano's on a Thursday evening. The first thing I was struck by were the 2 statues out front -- wearing T-shirts! When we walked in, I was taken with how attractive the restaurant is.We were seated in a back room that was decorated like the cafes in the streets of Italy. Very inviting. They offered a special winter cocktail with Prosecco and berries. It was delicious, but if I'd known in advance that it was $11, I probably would have passed. At first, our server was kind of slow; he brought out drinks quickly, but it was a long time until he took our orders. But, other than that, he was very good. He also paid attention: everyone before me ordered green beans as their side instead of potato, and when he got to me, he just said, "I'm guessing you also want green beans?" I ordered the chicken mama Assunta -- 3 lightly breaded chicken breasts with artichokes & mushrooms in a lemon & wine sauce. It was wonderful, and I had enough for 2 meals -- especially since it came with bread, mosticiolli, salad and green beans. When I first looked at the menu, it seemed on the expensive side for Italian food. But, once I saw how much they serve, I realized that it was worth it. If Luciano's weren't completely on the other side of town, I would definitely go back.

We have been regulars over the years but think this is my first review of Luciano's. It was my wife's choice for her birthday. First, very happy that they now accept reservations even for small parties. We arrived for our 6:00 res on a Thursday and had to wait about 15 minutes only because we didn't want a booth in the bar. The restaurant was packed. My wife and I had our usual veal parm and our daughter had chicken marsala. Veal was top shelf as always. Love the potatoes that come with and the side of pasta is good not great. Bread is delicious. Only criticism is that the side salad could use some improvement. The Italian dressing is great but a couple additions to the lettuce would be nice. All in all Luciano's remains one of our go to Italian restaurants in the area.

I was told this was one of the best Italian restaurants in the area. I'm not a huge fan of Italian food but I'm pregnant and pasta has been on my radar lately. I've seen the restaurant before on my drives and my new hairstylist that does my hair is next door. My husband and I decided to get some take-out on a Saturday early evening. We placed an order over the phone for a Calamari Fritti, Veal Salvatore, Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken, and a slice of cheesecake with strawberries. Were told it was going to be ready for pick up in 25 minutes. We live 7 minutes away; it didn't take too long until we arrived. The restaurant looks small from the outside but inside it is spacious and nice. My husband had to pick up our order by the bar area which they had ready. The waiter was nice enough to double check everything that was in the bag. Upon opening the containers, the food was still very hot and steaming. They also gave us a bag of fresh bread which was very good. The calamari was good, but I think it needed to be flavored a little more. The fettuccini was good in my opinion. There was way more pasta than chicken but, I guess that's normal. My husband's veal was tender and tasty, we just wished the portions were bigger. The quality of the food is above average. Maybe because the flavor was a little toned down for us, I'm not sure if I would go back looking at the prices.
